Re: Open Records Request

Dear Mrs. Savage:

Pursuant to the Kansas Open Records Act, I hereby request copies of the Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s year end property inventory for the years of 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998. Such inventory list shall include, but is not limited to, all weapons and other equipment stored in the sheriff’s evidence locker and or office/department.

Pursuant to K.S.A. 45-218 (d), I request that this information be provided “as soon as possible, but not later than the end of the third business day” following the date of this request. In addition, and also pursuant to K.S.A. 45-218 (d), “If the request for access is denied, the custodian shall provide, upon request, a written statement of the grounds for denial. Such statement shall cite the specific provision of law under which access is denied and shall be furnished to the requester not later than the end of the third business day following the date that the request for the statement is received.”
